So I started trying my morning WILD sessions again, seeing as how summer is well under way and all. However this time, there’s a twist. I found a technique I had done before when I first started, one that I had some success with. That technique is here, sort of. Just read through the first page or so, and if you still don’t get it keep reading, because he probably answers that later in the thread. Its basically a combined version of auto sugggestion, WBTB, and WILD. You tell yourself that you will wake up at ___ (4.5,6,or 7.5 hours from when you go to sleep) and that you will be completely awake and then go on to have a WILD and a Lucid dream. I’m working on getting myself to NOT MOVE when I wake up. Right now I automatically jerk awake. Bad habit. I have decided to stay this course as best I can for three weeks before I decide to move on. If I start getting results with it, well then, hehe, forget moving on. And as I have a good feeling about it, and plan to use hypnosis to enhance my chances (been trying to get around to some post-hypnotic suggestion for quite some time now) I think I may finally tear down the wall between me and lucid dreaming. In other news, long live Pink Floyd!

I found a link on the ld4all forum in the Lucidity Tools section that pertains to dream journals. Somebody decided to do what really needed to be done, they made a site for dream journaling. It makes recording your dreams about as easy as it gets, and not only that, but it even puts a spin on it, you can look at other people’s dreams and post comments! This community flavor adds a very interesting twist, not to mention makes the lengthy process of recording dreams much more fun.

What is this site you ask? Why, Dream Tome of course!

I recommend checking it out, because nothing helps dream recall like a log, and this is about the easiest way to keep one I’ve seen yet.

Happy dreaming everybody!

So I had my first experience with the “Old Hag” last night. AKA sleep paralysis, where you wake up and are unable to move. The twist with Old Hag is that you think something evil is after you, because you aren’t fully conscious yet. I woke up noticing that something was getting closer, I could “feel” it, even if I couldn’t see it. I decided I should probably move, but didn’t try, and then when I did, I freaked out. Namely because I couldn’t, I even remembered what It was half way through, I was still pretty scared though. Illogical fear is the best kind. So all in all a pretty average Old Hag. At least from what I’ve read. Anyways, I had a lot of oddly normal dreams last night, I also had slightly better recall then normal. This may be due to the fact that I used a free induction CD that I found a link to on LD4all. Or maybe it was because I woke up before and then again for the Old Hag. I also found a very useful program for people looking to start lucid dreaming, made by the infamous BenDrummin58 on LD4all. It is called the Lucid Dreaming Digibook, and it is basically a handbook of all the basic techniques and then some on lucid dreaming. VERY cool. And its all in a flashy program to boot! If you’re interested in that, then you may also want to check out Lucid Warp, by the same author. While it didn’t have the results on me that it claimed it would, I didn’t put as much into it as it recommended. So I got some improved recall, I think one lucid dream as well. As they say, you get out what you put in, so go ahead and try it out!

EXTRA! EXTRA!
Small group of paranormal researchers prove existence of “psi” energy

Or at least that’s what I imagine the headline would be… A major advance has been made, one that may even be enough to “prove” that psi or something like it exists.

I point you to this post on Peebrain’s (founder of PsiPog) blog. I believe this may be the first advancement on the path of finally making it a legitimate science. For those of you too lazy to read his post, it effectively says that he and some other major community members of PsiPog made a significant change in a Geiger counter. Now, I think that there are two possible ways that the Geiger counter was effected:

1: (The more likely way in my mind, but no less revolutionary) : The psi effected the circuits within Geiger counter causing the results to change.

2: (Probably not as likely, but who knows) : The psi caused/is composed of radiation which was picked up by the Geiger counter.

I think #1 is probably what happened, and would fit what has also been tested by other people. Many other people have been able to mentally effect electronic devices like clocks, but so far none has been able to effect such a dramatic effect in an otherwise stable instrument. Number two has many interesting thoughts with it, such as could many people concentrate on the same place to cause a radioactive area? Imagine the military’s interest…

Oh, and for those of you who are wondering about the incongruity between this post and my last one, I noticed that I generally have some down time at work, so perhaps I will keep posting. At any rate, I felt this was important enough to risk it.

I haven’t been able to post much recently becuase I’ve been getting acclimated to my summer intership at the local electric company…stupid substations. I’ll try and post soon about something psionics related, at the very least the night prior’s dream. Oh, and by the way, I precoged which song would be on the radio next. And I NEVER listen to the radio.

So two nights ago, on the eve of the beginning of finals, I decided to WILD upon going to bed. Nothing new, I had done this many times before, I just did it on the off chance something would happen.

I beat the odds.

I finally was able to induce the “vibrations” that Robert Monroe describes as quintessential to OBE’s. He says that the only thing one needs to do past this state is use a method for exiting. Unfortunately for me, I got excited and the vibrations faded before I could do anything about it. However, it did show me that I could do it, and in only 22 minutes nonetheless!

I have finally struck upon the right balance of asleep awake I think. This is what I used during my WILD:

1: For about the first 3-5 minutes I just layed in my bed, trying to lose consciousness.
2: After, when I was having trouble thinking about much, I started a mantra of:
I will become aware as I am falling asleep
I will become aware as I dream
I will remember all that I experience tonight.
3: After about 3 minutes of this, I get fed up because its so hard to get right consistently.
4: I begin numbing my body using focus 10 from Hemi-Sync (Its basically just progressive relaxation)
5: Indeterminate amount of time later: I suddenly notice myself counting from 1-10 and just as I hit 10 I notice my body feels funny. Really numb. Odd.
6:I keep numbing my body for about another ten seconds, then something that can only be described as “vibrations” begin.
7: These continue for about a minute or so and then my excitement causes them to fade. They were really strong feeling.
8: Wake up, check clock, it is 22 minutes after I layed down.

I attempted to do this the next night, but I ran up against yet another obstacle: Knowing how long to do each of the things above. It seems to vary on how tired you are. Oh well, I’m off to find THAT balance. Hopefully this one doesn’t take 7 months to find.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII have become, comfortably numb!
Long live Pink Floyd!

Well today would have been my third day for WILD1, but I didn’t get to sleep at the right time and that threw everything off. Even though I woke up at 400 (without an alarm) which is when I usually do WILD, I didn’t think to try it. I did give a half-hearted attempt when I originally went to sleep, but didn’t get past hypgognic imagery. But I could remember one dream from last night, even though my sleep was broken up. The dream is as follows:

The first thing I can remember is walking down a kind of exhibition hall, with a dream character narrating about how he had tried to save his beloved brown bunny multiple times, but had always failed. The exhibition is of lots of rabbit corpses, all horribly mutilated. Some are missing parts of their anatomy, others are just lumps of fur. He said that we must not fail this time. (Through some odd dream device, we’re saving the same bunny that has already been killed more ways then I can count) The dream cuts to a movie type of view, showing the man who currently has the bunny. He is somewhere in Alaska (this frozen tundra seems to be a recurring dream location, and I always have the feeling that it is Alaska, even though there are no indications of that) This man is driving a beaten up white pickup truck with a bunch of tanks of oxygen and other things in the back. He is smoking a cigarette and driving on an asphalt road towards a vat of viscous yellow liquid. Somehow I know his intent is suicide. He takes a final drag on the cigarette as he goes over, and makes no motion to save himself as the truck sinks. The oxygen tanks were supposed to explode, but through some miracle they do not. I sprint along after the truck and slide to the edge of the frozen road and snatch one of the containers. I open the top and spill out several pebbles and a small furry, brown bunny that is no larger then my hand. It isn’t breathing. I slowly stroke its lungs hoping to evoke some response, when it starts to breathe! We’ve saved the rabbit, which was supposed to be impossible. The dream character who was with me tells me to leave the rabbit here and go get a (I think it was camera, but it may have been something much less sensible) camera to record this event. I say “What?! No, we have to get out of here!” I say this after looking on the road, which is more like a path at this point, which has small waves of water rolling down it. I intuitively know that those waves will keep getting bigger until they swamp us. The dream character keeps telling me to get the camera, but I won’t do it. I start sprinting down the path. The dream character follows.

(Possibly a different dream cycle) I am back in the Tree Mansion, which is the best way to describe what the dream character’s house is. I am sprinting along the entry way holding the brown bunny when I see two of my friends, one boy one girl, putting red yellow and white thumb tacks into the ground in some sort of cleaning technique. “That must take forever” I say.
“It’s easier when you’re an aide” replies the guy. I carefully run past the tacks and that’s when my recollection of the dream fades.

1: WILD, stands for Wake Initiated Lucid Dream. It is a dream induction technique which can also be used to induce out of body experiences. If you want to know more about it, read the post by Seeker.

2: Hypgognic imagery is vivid flashes of objects or places. This state occurs before sleep.

This blog is now linked on PsiLinks, so welcome to anybody who came from that direction. Now, what have I been up to for the past few days the man in the back asks…I started a daily attempt to WILD1. This is a fairly big move for me, it certainly eats about 60 minutes of my sleep nightly, but I think the results will more then pay for the effort. I had my interest in WILD rekindled when I read This: (Warning, LOOOOOONG) This is something somebody else wrote, I am in no way claiming ANY credit for it. I’d also like to thank Seeker for taking the time to write it. The post is on the forum at this site. (Which is incidentally also a very nicely laid out site for learning the basics of lucid dreaming) I was going to post it right here…but it is VERY long. But as far as my attempts at WILDing go, today was my second day. The first day I woke myself up too much, and couldn’t fall asleep again. Today, exactly the opposite. I barely woke up at all, so all I ended up doing was interrupting my sleep. However, I’ve been having more trouble recalling my dreams since I started doing this. I changed my MILD2 to include waking up at the time to do my WILD, but still nothing. I’m sure I’ll start remembering soon, and If not, I’ll shift the MILD back to remembering. I’ve also started keeping a dream journal again, to help improve recall. Ironically my recall died right after I started the journal. D’oh!

Notes:

1: WILD, stands for Wake Initiated Lucid Dream. It is a dream induction technique which can also be used to induce out of body experiances. You can see why I want to learn it. If you want to know more about it, read the post by Seeker.

2: MILD, stands for Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream. It is when you repeat something to yourself (In your head, usually) until you fall asleep. The idea is that your subconscious picks up on what you’re repeating and acts on it. Or thats the theory anyways. Ld4all and Dream Views both have explanations on MILD and WILD.

So I had some pretty rockin’ dreams last night, I had a really long one about the Matrix. Only it was first like I was watching it, then I was neo. The only problem was that about half of the matrix “freed minds” were against each other. This happened when a portal opened up and a lot of people went through, only to find themselves trapped. This was when I was still a third party, it was kind of like a prologue. Then the people inside found a way out, it was something like trading their souls for free passage. This turns their eyes red. On the “outside” the rest of the freed minds (in the dream I think only neo was from the actual movies, the rest were just dream characters in matrix clothing) were trying to find a way to get the others out of the portal, which is still there. Then all of a sudden, the other people come out of the portal and start attacking us. Apparently they’re now hostile, I’m not exactly sure why. Each side has its own “juggernaut” so to speak, and now waking I can’t remember who it was. All I know was that I was not that person. More skirmishes occur, and it becomes increasingly obvious that the people on the inside are more powerful then us, as we continue to lose minds. This is when I take action, when it is just me (I’m pretty sure I’m neo at this point) and our “juggernaut” left on our side. The other side still has pretty much everyone (I think that was about 10 people) I go up to the portal, and step through. But I don’t go through, I see a house on the other side with all of them sleeping. Somehow, I have transcended the barrier, because I still remember back from when I was watching, and this house (actually the entrance of my own house in real life) is not what they found originally. Then something odd happens. Bullets begin flying everywhere, the people on the floor start to rise, but all of them are slaughtered, and in that instant, the house disappears and I see what the “other side” is really like. It is a red area about a football field big, with huge rocks forming the boundaries, everything has a red tint. The only person left is a woman who looks very ill. She has a kind of blood vein growing on her clothing. I decide that I need to go and tell he “juggernaut” this, and I go up to the portal, which is kind of the run of the mill energy swirling in a circle portal. (note, from the outside this portal appears blue. From the inside it appears red like everything else) I put my forearm on it with my fist facing it, and push through. I am elated that I have successfully escaped from the “inside” when suddenly everything turns red. I realize that the mere act of leaving causes you to lose your soul.( It isn’t exactly like a soul, but a vital part of oneself, hard to explain) I fly back to our base (which happens to be in my backyard, surprise surprise!) and explain to the “juggernaut” what happened. He tells me to go back and finish the job, because I have somehow managed to keep my mind even after losing whatever it is when crossing the portal. I go back through. This time she is awake, and we have a discussion, which I no longer remember, but she is undoubtedly evil, and has been corrupted by this place. We begin fighting, we are evenly matched. That’s where my recall of the dream fades away…

This was a rather long dream…if you couldn’t tell. Also, I saw a link to a rather cool site about how to improve your memory. It also has a section on how to remember your dreams. I’ve already been using their method to some extent, and I can tell you it works very well for dreams. The only problem with it is that you have to have something to start from, AKA, you have to remember something to start off.

Also an odd occurrence from last night, or should I say last morning, as I woke at 334. I haven’t had many sleep paralysis incidents, but when I woke up very briefly, I think it was around twelve in the afternoon, I tried to move my arm, which was VERY tingly. Think like when your leg falls asleep, and multiply it by about 3. It was definitely still asleep, as I could NOT get it to move. I started to panic, then calmed down when I realized what it was and that I could still move the rest of my body. I used my other arm to move it out of the way so that I could roll over, and when I moved it, it was COMPLETELY relaxed. Weirdest feeling ever, it was like I was moving somebody else’s arm. I regained control of it about 5 seconds after I moved it, just in time too, because I fell right back asleep.

If any one takes the time to read all of this post, here’s a reward link. I went there in a lucid dream once, but the only problem was I didn’t use it for what I needed. I had no problem staying lucid, it was just VERY non-vivid. Anyways, enough talking, that site is cool, read about its purpose on the site.

Good luck dreaming everybody.

Ok, so our high school band marched in the Starlight Parade in Portland, which was a pretty big deal, and also pretty far away from where I live. So on the way back, I had a lot of time to do…well anything. My friend, who is also a psion, brought up the topic and we started to talk about it. That progressed into practicing some things. My friend discovered that his shield was also very good at sensing energy, so we messed around with that, pretty good results. Then he told me to send a construct at his head, which he had shielded. The psiball I made bounced off a few times and them went through, and then I had it fly around his head for a little bit to bug him. The funny thing is, when I got it back, it was a lot flatter. I would guess that that was from the part where I rammed it into his shield. This wasn’t shelled or anything, I was just directing it around. But I’m too tired to write more, I took the SAT today after getting up at like 6, then drove from that to the parade, then drove home….and now its 3:06. Long day.

…no links today, sorry.
