Lucidipedia- A Review

Posted in: dreaming,reviews

It’s time for another site review, and I’ve run across a very interesting site for it. The site is Lucidipedia, and it’s got a lot going for it. It has a very interesting way of gathering information, as well as a research program and a dream journaling system.

Lucidipedia is in fact a wiki, as it’s name suggest. It is called “The Library,” and is dedicated to lucid dreaming as well as other dreaming related topics. It has a lot of high quality information. The interesting thing about this particular wiki is that they have an entire forum dedicated to adding new things to the wiki. While it may sound like the build in “discuss this” page on every other wiki, it is quite different. It puts things in a more central and focused arena. The forum is used to gather the information, and then the best of it is transferred to the Library. This system has made the library a very good source of information.

The research part of the site is still under construction, but will eventually conduct experiments which will be added to the library when finished. The researchers have a lot of material to work with, as people can make their dreams “public,” or” researcher only” when they use the dream journaling software.

This leads into the dream journaling software, which is really the star of this site. Users have the ability to save their dreams, and to label them with several pre-defined variables. A few of these are level of lucidity, what induction technique was used (if it was lucid), or what you used it for. You can later search your dreams or see statistics of your dreams. It even has a calender for keeping easy tabs on when you’ve journaled or haven’t.

Here are some screen shots of the dream journal interface. (click the thumbnail to go to the full size)

So go ahead and check it out!
